an update

For all of you have told me to tell Bret and Susie hello, they miss you. They miss everybody. Plese keep Susie in your prayers. She has been VERY sick the past couple of days, and this has made the move even more hard on her. She still smiles when she sees her puppy though!! We are having a naming contest for it sometime this week. If you have any suggestions, let me know. To give you ideas, it has had gum stuck to its head for the past week. Haha.

The past few days has been dedicated to planting trees. Since AMO is expanding, they had to cut down quite a few trees to make more room for thier future buildings. As the law goes in Brazil, if you cut down a tree, so many more have to be planted in its place. So we have had 2 plant over 300 hundred trees by Wednesday. It is madness!! At least it is not sumer here...

On Friday, I made dnner. Those of you who know me know that I DON´T cook. Amazingly, I was able to cook for 10 people and was greatly complimented for it. I made pineapple casserole and Cheesy chicken. And we had cheesecake for dessert. YAY! That was DEFINATELY a prayer answered.

There is only 22 days left until I leave. I don´t want to leave yet. The people here are so awesome and encouraging. The accountability and positive atmosphere is going to hard to part with. They have even joked about stealing my passport so Id have to stay here. They also said that of course they would invite Justin too...Sounds like a plan to me!!

I don´t want to go back to college!! The transition is going to be so difficult! It starts in 27 days!! AHH!!! But I am looking forward to what the future holds for our college ministry. I miss our bible studies...

But I am gaing SOME biblial knowledge here. haha-Since I am currently living with 2 pastors and multiple seminary students, everything is turned into a lesson. And then the lesson is turned into a debate. I just listen and learn. Haha.

And I dare not reveal any of my talents to anyone here. For example, I was singing while I was doing the dishes, and Pete Brennan overheard me. He continued to pressure me until I sang in front of the congregation. I did and it was terrifying. You can ask my mom if I did well or not. She was there : ).

This experience has definately been one of spiritual growth. I am enjoying every minute of growing closer with Christ. Please pray for me as I continue to grow more.

Thanks for your support,

Amber

Amber Marie,

Wow! This is the same niece that I've seen grow up all these years?! I'm soooo proud (in a God-centered way) of the work He is doing through you. And don't worry about those moments where you think things are out of control, like singing in front of people or cooking for multitudes. Stepping out of your comfort zone is crucial in discovering where God wants you to go!

I missed seeing you in the Smokies, but look forward to seeing you when you get back. Here's some pictures:

I can not imagine how hard it would be to leave down there after that long when I know how hard it is to leave after just one week. I heard you sing that night (and have it on video!) and you did great and should share your talent more often with others. I did not get to eat your cooking however so I can not comment on that!

Watching you, your mom, and sister share the Brazil experience was an awesome honor that I am priveleged to have had. I hope one day I can have the same experience with my kids. I am proud of you for doing this with your life at this stage and can only promise you that you will reap its rewards forever.

Tell everyone I said Oi (even Vivian) and give all my kids hugs.

Tell Susie to name the dog Leanna (even if male) because it will make her think of me everytime she calls it by name - she will understand!

See you in a few weeks.

Allen

Amber, I always love your singing in a public setting. Dad says hello and misses you immensely as he was not able to come with us and see you in person. So glad the meal went great for you.
Poppy and MeeMaw have been asking when are you coming home!!

HIIII Amber!
I'm just now getting to catch up on your blog....I'm not even sure I knew you had one.

Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you often and SO proud of you! It's an amazing thing to have this kind of opportunity at your age. I know you are growing by leaps and bounds in your walk with the Lord. Can't wait to see how He molds you and grows you and uses you in the coming months and years! On adventure with God....is there anything better????

Love you!
Jeanne
